It was a bit gloomy looking outside today so I decided to keep busy and clean the cupboards out in the kitchen, however once i opened the cupboard I saw the Muesli, and a Light went on.
I was off on a Healthy treat making exercise.
The next ingredients required were something to bind and flavour the ingredients. So the fridge revealed Honey and Peanut butter yum yum.
Ok so here is the list of all ingredients I used..
- 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
- 1/2 cup Honey
- 1/2 cup Peanut butter
- 1/4 T/spoon Salt
- sprinkle of Cinnamon powder
- one teaspoon of each Flax seeds white and black ones
- one desert spoon full Currants
- one desert spoon full Cranberry's
- Dash Vanilla Essence
Into a non stick pan place the sugar, honey and peanut butter, stir over low heat till well mixed.
then add the muesli and other ingredients and mix well. then place all of contents into the prepared (lined with tin foil) and pressed down.
Then all you have to do is let it cool down for about 1 hour. and cut into bars.
Then what I do is wrap each of them into baking parchment paper and pop each one into a small sandwich bag to help keep them fresh also because I store mine in the fridge.
This is so quick and easy to make your family will love them also pop one into the children's lunch box.
These are very healthy snack bars, but they do contain peanuts (allergies to peanuts can be fatal).
