Christmas Tree - The Green One's Are still the Best.

Christmas Tree at the Thistle hotel Johor Bahru

The tradition of decorating an evergreen tree at Christmas started in Livonia and Germany in the 16th century.

The Christmas tree is a decorated evergreen coniferous tree, real or artificial, and a tradition associated with the celebration of Christmas.

The Christmas tree is often brought into a home, but can also be used in the open, and can be decorated with Christmas lights (originally candles), ornaments, garlands and tinsel during the days around Christmas.

An angel or star is often placed at the top of the tree, representing the host of angels or the Star of Bethlehem from the Nativity.

A lot of Christmas trees i see these days to me are not very good, mainly because I associate green with a tree, so for me it has to be a green christmas tree, not white or like this one below Blue in a shopping mall in Johor Bahru,

Bukit Indah tree

This kind of tree does not cut it with me, and cheapens the whole affair, but hey at least they tried. the rest of the display looks ok.

Hi John,

I am starting a new podcast show for early next year and would appreciate having the opportunity to interview you via Skype or phone for about 30 minutes.

I lived and worked in Asia for about 14 years and wanted to interview people still living in Asia. It's an open topic show so you can talk about anything you feel comfortable with. I ask about local trends in business and great places to grab good food. We can chat about what's happening for expats and how that has changed over the years. If you are interested in participating or know a few "old hands" that like to talk up a storm please drop me a quick note.
