Internet Access in Johor Bahru - Time to Change Provider I Think.

This is the company we have been using at our condo for the last few years and up to middle of last year all was OK. ( worst thing really is I have been praising this company for ages and now they unreliable I feel bad for all the people I recommended to go with them.:-( )

But like so many Internet companies they start off well but allow over subscription and this in it's self is the downfall of these companies. (well that's just my opinion gained by experience over the last 15 years or so On-line.)

We pay for connection per month but half the time it will allow you to log in but not access web pages, then when you phone up to advise them of a problem, why can they not tell you when they are having problems them selves, I mean come on life is full of problems,  so I don't think anyone expects everything in life to go without faults, but if they were up front when you called and said it down to a problem with us and we will credit you with the time the service is down. then we could get on with our lives instead of being told they will reset the system, leading you to believe it will be back on soon.

I have many website and blog which I try to keep updated daily but just lately that's not possible. So its time to move on and find someone else that will keep us on-line most of the time.

Then we have the other problem - Which One To go with.

So I have done some research in the Johor area and the following is my guide to whats on offer at the moment with the providers.

A lot of companies promise the earth but deliver little, so what can you do about it with regards to the connection services in Malaysia, well you can report these to Communications and Multimedia Consumer Forum (CFM) at http://www.cfm.org.my. This body responsible to monitor fixed line, hand phone line provider, Internet and television & radio services, and all these providers have to have clean record in order to maintain their licenses. If we all do complaint in proper way, not only our right and money protected, but we will have these companies improve their services and at the same time the country will meet their MSC standards.

One thing Companies have to work on, is their customer service, the days when we could be fobbed off with tales are long gone and we the consumers are far more smart that we are given credit for.

One thing is for sure - It will be the consumers that will decide with their feet if the Internet service providers don't improve their game.
